Learning Beyond the Classroom

Dear San Patricio Community,

When we think about education, it is natural to picture classrooms, books, and academic projects. However, some of the experiences that leave the greatest impact on our students take place beyond the classroom, where they have opportunities to discover talents, take on new challenges, and develop skills that will stay with them for years to come.

Throughout this school year, our students have participated in experiences such as SPISMUN, the Beyond and Pilot conferences, STEAM Fairs, sporting events, festivals, artistic performances, Student-Led Conferences, MasterChef, and special projects. Through these opportunities, they have learned to collaborate, communicate with confidence, solve problems, take responsibility, and grow in environments that challenge them to do their best.

As I walk through our campus and attend many of these events, I have seen students who were once hesitant become more confident, share their ideas with conviction, and take on new challenges with enthusiasm. Witnessing that personal growth is one of the most rewarding parts of each school year.

These experiences complement academic learning and help students better understand themselves, build confidence, and find meaningful ways to contribute to their community. Their impact cannot always be measured by a grade, but it is reflected in the people our students are becoming.

We are very proud of everything our students have accomplished this year, both inside and outside the classroom, and we thank our families for being part of each of these experiences.

Aprender más allá del aula

Querida comunidad San Patricio:

Cuando pensamos en la educación, es natural imaginar salones de clase, libros y proyectos académicos. Sin embargo, algunas de las experiencias que más marcan a nuestros alumnos suceden fuera del aula, en espacios donde tienen la oportunidad de descubrir talentos, enfrentar nuevos retos y desarrollar habilidades que los acompañarán durante toda la vida.

A lo largo de este ciclo escolar hemos visto a nuestros estudiantes participar en actividades tan diversas como SPISMUN, los congresos Beyond y Pilot, STEAM Fairs, eventos deportivos, festivales, presentaciones artísticas, Student-Led Conferences, MasterChef y proyectos especiales. En cada una de estas experiencias han aprendido a trabajar en equipo, comunicarse con seguridad, resolver problemas, asumir responsabilidades y desenvolverse en entornos que los retan a crecer.

Al recorrer los pasillos del colegio y acompañar muchos de estos eventos, he observado cómo alumnos que al inicio del año eran más reservados hoy participan con mayor confianza, presentan sus ideas con seguridad y se atreven a asumir nuevos retos. Ese crecimiento personal es una de las mayores satisfacciones que nos deja cada ciclo escolar.

Estos momentos complementan la formación académica y ayudan a nuestros alumnos a conocerse mejor, fortalecer su confianza y encontrar nuevas formas de contribuir a su comunidad. Son experiencias que difícilmente se miden con una calificación, pero que tienen un impacto profundo en su desarrollo personal.

Nos sentimos muy orgullosos de todo lo que nuestros alumnos han logrado este año, tanto dentro como fuera del salón de clases, y agradecemos a las familias por acompañarnos en cada una de estas experiencias.

교실을 넘어선 배움

사랑하는 San Patricio 가족 여러분께,

교육이라고 하면 흔히 교실, 책, 그리고 학업 프로젝트를 떠올리게 됩니다. 하지만 학생들에게 가장 오래 남는 배움 중 일부는 교실 밖에서 이루어집니다. 새로운 재능을 발견하고, 도전에 맞서며, 앞으로의 삶에도 도움이 될 역량을 키우는 경험들이 바로 그곳에서 시작됩니다.

올 한 해 동안 우리 학생들은 SPISMUN, Beyond 및 Pilot 컨퍼런스, STEAM Fair, 스포츠 행사, 축제, 예술 공연, Student-Led Conferences, MasterChef, 그리고 다양한 특별 프로젝트에 참여해 왔습니다. 이러한 경험을 통해 학생들은 협력하는 방법, 자신 있게 의사를 표현하는 방법, 문제를 해결하는 방법, 책임감을 가지고 행동하는 방법을 배우며 성장해 왔습니다.

학교 곳곳을 둘러보고 이러한 행사들을 함께하면서, 연초에는 다소 수줍어하던 학생들이 이제는 자신감 있게 자신의 생각을 발표하고 새로운 도전에 기꺼이 나서는 모습을 볼 수 있었습니다. 이러한 성장을 가까이에서 지켜보는 것은 교육자로서 가장 큰 보람 중 하나입니다.

이러한 경험들은 학업을 보완할 뿐만 아니라 학생들이 자신을 더 잘 이해하고, 자신감을 키우며, 공동체에 기여하는 방법을 배우도록 돕습니다. 비록 성적으로는 모두 측정할 수 없지만, 학생들이 어떤 사람으로 성장하고 있는지에서 그 가치를 확인할 수 있습니다.

학생들이 교실 안팎에서 이루어 낸 모든 성장을 매우 자랑스럽게 생각하며, 늘 함께해 주시는 가족 여러분께도 진심으로 감사드립니다.
