Learning to Promote Peace
Dear San Patricio Community,
On September 21, the world observes the International Day of Peace, and this month we are using that occasion to reinforce one of our core traits: Promoters of Peace.
At San Patricio International School, we want our students to understand that peace is not simply the absence of conflict. It also means listening, respecting different points of view, engaging in open dialogue, and finding solutions that allow people to move forward together. We see this in everyday collaborative work, when students learn to organize themselves, share responsibilities, and reach agreements.
Experiences such as SPISMUN strengthen this mindset as well. By debating global issues, defending a position, and listening to other perspectives, students practice the skills needed to build understanding and respectful dialogue.
Becoming a promoter of peace starts with recognizing that our words, decisions, and actions have a real impact on the people around us.

Promover la paz también se aprende
Querida comunidad San Patricio:
El próximo 21 de septiembre se conmemora el Día Internacional de la Paz, y este mes queremos aprovechar esa fecha para reforzar uno de nuestros valores: Promoters of Peace.
En San Patricio International School trabajamos para que nuestros alumnos entiendan que la paz no se limita a evitar conflictos. También implica escuchar, respetar opiniones distintas, dialogar con apertura y buscar soluciones que ayuden a todos. Lo vemos en el trabajo colaborativo entre alumnos, cuando aprenden a ponerse de acuerdo, repartir responsabilidades y avanzar juntos.
Experiencias como SPISMUN también ayudan a desarrollar esta visión. Al debatir temas internacionales, defender una postura y escuchar otras perspectivas, los alumnos practican habilidades que son esenciales para construir acuerdos y convivir con respeto.
Formar promotores de paz significa ayudar a nuestros estudiantes a entender que sus palabras, decisiones y actitudes tienen un impacto real en quienes los rodean.
